Beginning in vibrant Cape Town, where the stunning backdrop of Table Mountain and the seafront are the perfect complement to our cooking class and exploration of the Cape Town markets and neighborhoods. The stunning sea views of Hermanus will give us the opportunity to see the “Marine Big 5” before heading to the vineyards of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, where we’ll taste wines from crisp Chenin Blanc to robust Pinotage. Conclude your journey with an unforgettable safari experience in Sungulwane Game Reserve, where wildlife encounters by day give way to luxurious dinners under the African stars, blending the best of nature and fine dining into one extraordinary adventure.

Itinerary

Day One - October 13th, 2026

Cape Town Arrival Day and Welcome Dinner

Private transfers from the airport to our 4* accommodations along the waterfront, The Commodore Hotel. After an early evening orientation, we’ll have a group Welcome Dinner at a beautiful South African restaurant, diving straight into Cape Town’s dynamic food culture. Day Two - October 14th, 2026

Table Mountain, Neighborhood Walking Tour & Cooking Class

Our morning starts with a private tour of breathtaking Table Mountain, offering expansive views over Cape Town and the ocean from its distinctive flat peak. We’ll join a local culinary expert on a visit to a market in the lively Bo-Kaap neighborhood, where we’ll select ingredients for our hands-on cooking class, exploring the flavors and techniques of South African cuisine (the class will involve signature dishes such as the succulent Bobotie and the spicy Chakalaka). Free afternoon, perhaps strolling along the scenic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Dinner at one of the city’s great restaurants. (Meals Included B, L, D)

Day Three - October 15th, 2026

Cape Town Tour, Penguins, and Cape of Good Hope

Today is a full-day private tour to the Cape of Good Hope, a spectacular nature reserve known for its dramatic sea cliffs and rich biodiversity. Visit the famous Boulders Beach for an enchanting experience of watching African penguins in their natural habitat. Guided walk to the historic Cape Point Lighthouse, where you can witness the meeting point of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Savor a mouthwatering lunch at a celebrated seafood restaurant along the picturesque False Bay coastline. Return to Cape Town in the evening for dinner in Camps Bay, a trendy seaside suburb known for its stunning beach views. (Meals Included B, L, D)

Day Four - October 16th, 2026

Head to the Coastal town Hermanus

Check out of our hotel in the morning for the 1.5-hour drive to the small coastal town of Hermanus, pausing at a few charming farm stalls along the way to savor the region’s freshest produce and artisanal treats. We’ll also stop for a light hike along the renowned Cliff Path Walk, with spectacular ocean views, and potential whale watching opportunities. Lunch will be at a local seafood restaurant. In the afternoon we’ll arrive at the beautiful Windsor Hotel, with free time to relax at the hotel or wander the quaint town before we gather as a group for dinner. (Meals Included B, L, D)

Day Five - October 17th, 2026

Hermanus & Marine Big 5

We’ll spend the morning at the Hermanus Saturday Country Market, tasting a variety of local food, surrounded by the colorful stalls and upbeat music. Continue on a ‘Marine Big 5 safari’, an amazing opportunity to (hopefully) see huge whales coming up for air, great white sharks swimming in their home waters, dolphins jumping around in the waves, seals hanging out by the coast and penguins walking all around the shore. Free evening. (Meals Included B, L)

Day Six - October 18th, 2026

Stellenbosch Wine Tasting

Say goodbye to the coast and hello to South Africa wine country, one of the world’s top wine regions. Our picnic lunch with a wine tasting will be at an estate near Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, sampling a selection of regional wines paired with fresh breads, artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and seasonal produce. Next up is our private wine-making class, where we’ll learn blending techniques, experiment with different grape varieties, and bottle your own custom blend to take home as a souvenir, or enjoy on your travels! Our hotel will be the charming Mont d’or Franschhoek in the village of Franschhoek, walking distance from shops and art galleries. Group dinner at one of the best restaurants in town. Day Seven - October 19th, 2026

Durban & Sungulwane Game Reserve

It’s a long travel day, but your safari adventures await! In the morning, we’ll check out and make the one hour drive back to Cape Town, followed by a two hour flight to King Shaka International Airport in Durban, traveling to the east side of the country. Group lunch upon arrival in Durban. After lunch, we’ll start the afternoon drive to Sungulwane Game Reserve, a private reserve known for its diverse wildlife. We’ll arrive in the evening and check into our stunning safari lodge, Rhino Ridge and have time to settle in and rest before the next day’s safari adventures. (Meals Included B, L, D)

Day Eight - October 20th, 2026

Sungulwane Game Reserve Big Five

Wake up early and be ready for adventure! We’ll have a full day safari game drive in Sungulwane Game Reserve, exploring open plains, dense bush, and watering holes in search of the Big Five, elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo, as well as giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Group dinner at the lodge. (Meals Included B, L, D)

Day Nine - October 21st, 2026

Sungulwane Game Reserve Big Five

Get ready for a second amazing day of safari game drives, where in addition to the Big Five, you might encounter zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles and a variety of bird species. Our expert guides will provide insight into animal behaviors, tracking techniques, and the conservation efforts that protect the animals. Group dinner at the lodge. (Meals Included B, L, D)

Day Ten - October 22nd, 2026

Durban & Farewell Dinner

Final morning safari in Sungulwane Game Reserve, offering a last chance to spot wildlife in the early hours when many animals are most active. We’ll have a 3.5-hour drive back to Durban, where we’ll check into our hotel and have time to unwind before the evening. Farewell dinner at a top restaurant in the city. (Meals Included B, L, D)
