Day One - Monday, September 7

Welcome To Porto
Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the airport by a private driver and head to Porto Bay Teatro, a modern boutique hotel located in Porto’s UNESCO-listed city center theater district. After time to settle in and freshen up, we’ll gather for our Welcome Dinner near our hotel. (Meals D)

Day Two - Tuesday, September 8

A Taste of Porto
Today’s full-day food tour reveals the diversity of Portuguese cuisine through the lens of Porto’s traditions and markets. Led by a local culinary expert, we’ll walk through the city’s historic neighborhoods sampling bites such as pastéis de nata, chamuças, cod croquettes, spicy bifana sandwiches, and a shared Francesinha—the indulgent sandwich Porto is famous for. Along the way, we’ll enjoy wine and olive tastings, nibble on gourmet Portuguese cheeses and cured meats, and finish with something sweet and surprising—perhaps a ginginha-laced hot chocolate. Expect a delicious mix of food, history, and warm hospitality at every stop. (Meals B,L)

Day Three - Wednesday, September 9

The Duoro Valley
Today we leave the city behind and head into the postcard-perfect Douro Valley, Portugal’s most renowned wine region. Our private guide will lead us on a full-day journey through terraced vineyards, beginning with a visit to a romantic 18th-century palace near Vila Real for a garden stroll and an elegant wine tasting. After stops for sweeping valley views, we’ll enjoy a leisurely riverside lunch with wine pairings. In the afternoon, we visit a family-run vineyard for a guided tour and Port tasting, followed by a scenic boat ride on the Douro River. It’s a feast for all the senses, set against one of Europe’s most stunning backdrops. (Meals B, L)

Day Four - Thursday, September 10

From Market To Table
This morning, we roll up our sleeves for a market-to-table experience with a local chef. After selecting fresh produce, seafood, and other delicacies at Bolhão Market and nearby grocers, we’ll head to a rooftop kitchen with panoramic city views. There, the chef will guide us through a hands-on cooking class, transforming our market finds into a gourmet lunch paired with exceptional Portuguese wines. This immersive experience blends culinary education, creativity, and pure indulgence—culminating in a shared meal you helped create. (Meals B, L)

Day Five - Friday, September 11

A Delicious Detour
Our journey south to Lisbon is anything but ordinary. En route, we stop in Aveiro, known for its colorful canals and beloved sweet, ovos moles, which we’ll sample on a walking tour. Then it’s on to Oliveira de Azeméis, where we step back in time to learn the art of traditional Pão de Ul bread-making. In a rural setting surrounded by historic windmills, we’ll knead, bake, and enjoy warm bread straight from a wood-fired oven. After this hands-on taste of local life, we arrive in Lisbon and check into PortoBay Marquês, a contemporary hotel with rooftop views. (Meals B, L)

Day Six - Saturday, September 12

Culinary Crossroads of Libson
Spend the morning on a flavorful walking tour through Lisbon’s iconic neighborhoods, including Mouraria and the city’s historic downtown. With a local guide, we’ll taste our way through a curated lineup of dishes—pork sandwiches, cod fritters, chicken gizzards, olives, cheeses, custard tarts, and more—paired with Portuguese wines, beer, and cherry liqueur. After a break to relax, we reconvene in the evening for a private Fado dinner experience. As the city glows in the evening light, we’ll enjoy a panoramic drive through Belém and pause at a scenic viewpoint before settling in for a traditional dinner set to the soulful sounds of Portugal’s most beloved music. Day Seven - Sunday, September 13

Évora & Alentejo Wines
Today we head inland to Évora, a UNESCO World Heritage city in the heart of Alentejo. After visits to the hauntingly beautiful Chapel of Bones and the 12th-century Évora Cathedral, we continue to a prestigious winery for lunch and a cellar tour. Here, you’ll have the rare opportunity to create your own custom blend of wine, bottle and label it yourself, and take it home as a souvenir, or on our tour! A guided tasting rounds out this rich exploration of one of Portugal’s most important wine regions. Farewell group dinner. (Meals B, L, D)

Day Eight - Monday, September 14

Day Trip to Sintra
We’ll begin with a visit to the iconic Pena Palace, with its vibrant colors, Moorish-influenced architecture, and panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. We’ll continue to Quinta da Regaleira, a captivating estate renowned for its enigmatic gardens, mysterious tunnels, and ornate architecture. This day trip is optional. If you choose to join us, the price will be added to your final payment. The price of $490 per person double occupancy ($570 for single occupancy) will include tour, lunch and additional night at Lisbon hotel. (Meal B, L)  

Day Nine - Tuesday, September 15th

Farewell to Portugal
After one final breakfast, a private transfer takes you to Lisbon airport for your flight home. Alongside handcrafted wine, market treasures, and hundreds of photos, you’ll carry home the warmth of Portugal’s kitchens and the memories of meals shared, flavors discovered, and friendships made.
